Hamas is Iran’s Instrument of Obstructing Peace between Arabs and Israel

By Dr. Reza Parchizadeh On October 7, 2023, the Hamas terrorist group launched thousands of rockets deep into Israel and then attacked the south of the country by land, sea and air, killing hundreds of civilians and taking many hostages. Compared to the attack on the World Trade Center towers in New York on September 11, 2001, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3000 people, the recent terrorist attack has been called “Israel’s 9/11.” In the following days, Western and Israeli officials accused Iran of being behind the attack. In addition, some American outlets published investigative reports that indicated Tehran was directly responsible for the terrorist attack. According to …

Are Pahlavists Advancing Russia’s Agenda in America?

By Dr. Reza Parchizadeh Pahlavists, the far-right fanatics that are seemingly keen to revive the fallen Pahlavi autocracy by taking advantage of the popular anti-regime revolution in Iran, exploit Russian divisive tactics in an attempt to sabotage the credibility of Iranian liberal democracy activists in the United States. In what looks like a systematic smear campaign out of the Kremlin’s playbook, the Pahlavists resort to all sorts of McCarthy-style dirty tricks to character-assassinate their democratic political opponents and likely future rivals as “communists.” The aim of this campaign is seemingly to highlight the Pahlavists on the DC stage by investing in the “anti-communist unity” of the United States and the …

The Greatest Obstacle to Democracy in Iran

By Dr. Reza Parchizadeh The popular revolution in Iran that was sparked by the murder of the young Kurdish woman #Mahsa_Amini by the religious police of the Islamic Republic is gathering momentum across the country and gaining increasing support around the world. As such, the chances of the Islamist regime’s overthrow have never been so high. In view of the nationwide uprising in Iran, what we need to keep in mind is that more important than the fall of the authoritarian regime is how to stop once and for all the vicious cycle of tyranny that has afflicted the nation throughout modern times. While the revolution is going on, we …

Geopolitical turning point: The Russian Invasion is a Caesura on All Political Levels

The previous German foreign policy collapsed with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. This invasion is nevertheless, or unfortunately still, received in Germany under outdated ideological images from the Cold War. But is a change now beginning? An assessment by Schoresch Davoodi. It is a conflict between generations Many people in Germany want Germany to stay out of armed conflicts because of the experience of the Cold War and World War II. Others are aware of the historical reminder, but at the same time see a changing world security situation – in which Germany must redefine its role. It is therefore up to German society as a whole to find …

The Russian Information War – How the Ukraine Question Also Affects the Middle East and Africa

In Europe and also in North America, Russia is losing the information war to influence public opinion, except for a few actors who are ideologically firmly on Russia’s side, such as parts of the AfD and the Left, but also the SPD in Germany.[1] Meanwhile, the German “peace movement”[2] is also divided along generational lines on this issue.[3] In Europe, therefore, it looks bad for the time being that Russian propaganda can catch on. However, the situation is different in other parts of the world. In India, for example, Russia is winning the information war.[4] On the African continent and in the Middle East, on the other hand, Moscow’s propaganda …

Joint statement by European Pirates and Pirate Parties International on Putin’s aggression against Ukraine

The Pirates of Europe and the world strongly condemn the actions taken by Vladimir Putin. It’s with deep sorrow that we watch the events in Ukraine unfold, and our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine, those suffering the consequences of this conflict, and those opposing the war inside of Russia. We hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to this conflict, and for the immediate end of all hostilities in the region. It is inherent for the Pirate movement to oppose war. Violence, and the motives behind them, are contrary to the ideals of freedom, democracy, cooperation, and the respect for human rights, which should be the foundations of …

Germany’s Isolation Due to Irresponsible Foreign And Security Policy

By Alex Kohler, Pirate Party Germany Germany’s goal in its foreign and security policy should primarily be to promote cooperation in this area in Europe and to pursue common European security interests. This also means showing consideration for its EU partners. The SPD and the SPD-led Foreign Ministry in particular propagate a common European foreign policy, but the exact opposite is being done here. As in other areas where resilience is required [1], such as disaster control or pandemic preparedness, the state is expected to recognize dangers early, act with foresight, and coordinate countermeasures with partners. Active division of the EU One example of how the German side is actively …

Ukraine Conflict: We Cannot Afford to Remain Neutral

What is at stake? For a little over two weeks, there have been increasing reports of Russian troops deploying along the borders with Ukraine, the so-called “people’s republics” of the “separatists” in eastern Ukraine and in Crimea, which was annexed by Moscow. Videos on social media show deployments of battle tanks, armoured artillery, and engineer tanks on platoons and columns of infantry fighting vehicles, troop carriers, and field artillery. Other videos show combat helicopters, anti-aircraft systems, and logistical equipment such as tanker trucks and mobile hospitals. Although the date and location of the footage cannot be proven beyond doubt in every case, the images as a whole speak a clear …
