Happy Birthday Pirate Parties International!

We are delighted to share that this weekend marks 11 years since the founding of Pirate Parties International! A little bit about the history: After the founding of Piratpartiet in Sweden on January 1, 2006, other pirate parties emerged throughout Europe, and later worldwide. In the same year, a loose network of these parties was formed. In June 2007, representatives of the pirate parties of Sweden, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Poland, Spain, Ireland, Denmark, and Finland met for the first time at an international conference in Vienna. In 2008, further conferences followed in Berlin and Uppsala and the “Uppsala Declaration” was adopted. Since October 2009, the PPI has the status …

Peshmerga have never sold weapons from the Bundeswehr

Peshmerga have never sold weapons from the Bundeswehr by Enno Lenze It is irresponsible, unscrupulous journalism to claim that an army fighting on the front lines against Islamic State terrorists is illegally selling German weapons at a bazaar. This calls into question the continued supply, in this case, of weapons that are actually essential for survival. The NDR, the WDR, the Tagesthemen and the Deutsche Welle spread several times that the Kurdish Peshmerga would not be able to control the whereabouts of German weapons. All other media wrote off there. At the same time, the German journalists could not provide any evidence for their claims. They did not respond to …

Kurdistan – The usual Madhouse

by Enno Lenze, guest author. In the dark of the night, the plane touches down in thick fog next to attack helicopters, spy planes and under the vigilant eyes of the intelligence services. Even before the doors are open, vehicles come across the runway towards the plane, people jump out nervously and shout around. Heavily armed special forces are standing in the terminal, their darkened-window Jeeps are waiting at the door. At high speed it goes off the airport premises, passing an armoured Truck (MRAP) which secures the driveway. Northern Iraq smells like adventure, doesn’t it? Well, not really. But that’s how it might seem if you’re in an area like …
