The Russian Information War – How the Ukraine Question Also Affects the Middle East and Africa

In Europe and also in North America, Russia is losing the information war to influence public opinion, except for a few actors who are ideologically firmly on Russia’s side, such as parts of the AfD and the Left, but also the SPD in Germany.[1] Meanwhile, the German “peace movement”[2] is also divided along generational lines on this issue.[3] In Europe, therefore, it looks bad for the time being that Russian propaganda can catch on. However, the situation is different in other parts of the world. In India, for example, Russia is winning the information war.[4] On the African continent and in the Middle East, on the other hand, Moscow’s propaganda …

Pirate Parties International in collaboration with various PPI members are pleased to announce the official start of the ‘Pirates 4 Ukraine’ campaign. This aid comes in a number of forms, be it food, housing, transportation, information and anything you might think of as being necessary for everyday survival. …

Gilles from @Piratepartei sent this to the PPEU Mattermost on October 26th: Hello everybody, FYI: PPLU has started an action together with the ONG Boderline Europe to help refugees in Moria (Greece). For 30€, every donator receives a special “Coffee to help” mug and a reusable face mask. 100% of the donations will be directly forwarded to the refugees. The @PiratePartyUK to Close Down

On August 30th, Pirate Party UK announced their plans to hold a vote on whether or not to dissolve their Party: Dear Party members, It is with great sadness that we have reached the conclusion that PPUK has run out of steam. We hope that this will not be a permanent situation, but for the time being we think that there is not enough interest or energy to keep going and to justify collecting membership subscriptions. As a result, we will shortly be holding a ballot of all members on the simple proposal: • Pirate Party UK shall be dissolved consistent with article 7 of the constitution. The ballot will …
