Pirates Elected to Office [Pirate History] | PirateTimes

    • Can this list be finalized, including all elected pirates?

        • it will be. Lots of work collecting all information

            • Can it be crowdsourced? I figure in most countries we can find someone who can find all elected pirates in their own country? (as information like this is always public. You just need to know where to find it)

                • best way of crowdsourcing is pointing relevant people to this post. Knowing where to find find it and bridging language barriers is part of problem when gathering information like this. Reaching out to people only helps sometimes since many respond first after several notifications…

Happy for anyone that would like to join our effort to collect more info. Also doing a more extensive report about every election contested by a pirate party…

    • Svafar Helgason

You missed Halldór Auðar Svansson who was elected on to the city council in Reykjavik May of 2014.

Author

  • I joined the Pirate Party of Lower Saxony in Germany in April 2012, once I found out that non citizens were welcome to join and become active members of the Party. I joined the Pirate Times soon after it was started as a proof reader and am now an editor and author. Since then I have returned to my native New Zealand and joined the Pirate Party of New Zealand. Politically I come from the libertarian left and have, up to now, not regarded any political party as having a solution for the democratic deficit that envelops the world. With the advent of the Pirate Party, which truly embraces grass roots democracy, I have found a political home. The Pirate Times is a way I can contribute to furthering the Pirate Movement around the world.
