Pirate Bay co-founder Fredrik Neij Released from Prison June 4, 2015 · by Andrew McCallum · in Pirate Topic Fredrik Neij was released from prison in Skänninge, Sweden, on 1 June 2015, after serving two-thirds of a 10-month prison sentence for his involvement with Pirate Bay in enabling copyright infringement. Neij was instrumental in the operation of the Pirate Bay and was involved in the 2009 trial that saw him and fellow co-founders, Peter Sunde and Gottfrid Svartholm Warg (anakata), convicted of copyright offences. Sunde was released from prison in November 2014, after serving five months, while Warg is currently serving a 42-month prison sentence in Denmark for unrelated offences. …
