ThinkTwice Conference 2014 – Away from Keyboard
On 22 and 23 February 2014, Pirate Parties international (PPI) will be organising its first international ThinkTwice conference. For this first conference the tag line is “Away from Keyboard”. The event will take place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The aim of the conference is to bridge the gap between the worlds of the Pirate Parties, Academia and NGO’s. So this is not to be confused with PPI’s annual general assembly. The main idea of the conference is to exchange ideas and experiences between the different Pirate Parties and people or organisations that work on similar topics.
During the two days of the conference the talks and panels will be divided in three main tracks: Creativity, Human Rights and Revolution. But other topics will also be accepted. An incomplete list of speakers and the topics they will address is already available on the events website. The organisation is however still looking for more talks, presentations and panels. So if you want to be an active participant in the conference you can still submit a talk proposal. The deadline for submission is the 26 January 2014.
About Koen De Voegt
I’m a 34 year old electronics engineer from Antwerp, Belgium. I joined the Belgian Pirate Party in October of 2011. Around that time I was one of the first members of the Ghent branch. In January 2012 I founded the local branch of the PP in the city and province of Antwerp. I’m also travelling to international PP meetings, sometimes as delegate. I find the international nature of the pirate movement one of its great strengths to focus more on this I’ve successfully ran for co-chairperson of PPI.
