PPNO Achieves 4.1% in School Elections

The school elections, before the real upcoming local and regional elections in Norway, have taken place. Pirate Party of Norway received a total of 5.492 votes which would result in 4.1% across the country and 29 Seats in county parliaments.

Compared to 2013 they didn’t manage to participate in all counties this year but where they do partake they increased their percentage of the vote (with ‘Møre og Romsdal’ being the exception). Missing lists in six counties (same as real elections) caused their numbers to look a bit deflated when viewing the totals.

However, they managed to achieve more than 4% in all counties were they were participating (with exception of ‘Aust-Agder’) and with 6.4% of the votes in their most popular county. 29 Seats in total is a massive increase over the 8 they achieved in 2013. The school where PPNO got the highest result was a media school. ‘Noroff Mediegymnas Stavanger’, with a massive 26.1% of votes.

If the results of the school election is an indication of increasing support for the Pirate Party of Norway we can hope for some good results for them in their upcoming election (14 September).
